Currently have older 34 Silverton convertible. We are looking for a 2 stateroom convertible or trawler 40' or less. We boat the Jersey bays.
I have looked at these on-line and like the layout.

Any comments appreciated.

Anybody out there with experience on the 370 Voyager??? What years are you looking for???

Looks like they made them from 93 to 2003 (or 2002). From 99' on the galley was aft which I think I like better, but I guess I would have to see both layouts to tell for sure.

I like convertibles, but we were recently considering a trawler (fast trawler with twins) While this boat certainly is no trawler, the interior layout is large for a 37 and seems to be about as close as you can get between a true convertible and trawler interior layouts. I also like the exterior styling (reminds me of a silverton 351)Draft seems a bit deep though..

Anyway, any info on this vessel would be helpfull. I am assuming the quality and fit and finish of a carver is equal to a silverton?

Well...being that I work for a Carver dealer...I take offense to that comment (kidding). Actually, the Carver build quality is higher than that of Silverton, plus..wood-free stringers and floor framing and supports that are aluminum/ stainless steel as opposed to 2 x 4's. The 370/374 Voyager is a very solid boat. It uses a modified 355/356 Aft Cabin hull which provides a nice dry ride and is relatively quick. You'll also notice that the Carver will be more stable side to side than the Silverton as Carver carries the beam wider at the waterline and they have a fairly wide chine. Take one for a sea trial...I'm sure you'll like it.

I have owned a 2001 374 Voyager (salon up, galley aft) since 2003 and absolutely love it. The open and airy floor plan is terrific for entertaining (we had 14 ob board on the 4th) as well as just chilling with the family. The bridge helm has lots of room for guests. I have 6.2L Mercs and they have been trouble free. With higher gas prices this year we have slowed down to maximize gph and the boat handles very well at "trawler" speed with no bow rise. When we need to move, the boat cruises easily at 20 plus mph. I definitely recommend the Voyager. If you have specific questions, let us know.
