We have a 2001 Carver 350 Mariner, I'm guessing the duckbills have not ben replaced in the vacuflush unit.

There's a small (roughly 12" x 12") access plate in the stateroom to get to the unit. The pump is easy access, but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to service the rest of the unit. Has anyone worked on this before? The top of the unit cannot be removed since it nearly touches the floor board. Do I need to remove the screws hoding the unit in place and slide it under the access hatch so I can get a better grip?

Any advice is welcome.

Not sure of your setup but when I cleaned out my pump I removed the 8 screws or so holding the cover and then I could pull the duck bills out. No reason to remove the whole unit, just the cover.
