Anchor safety

Over the years I have seen a number of boats with the mushroom type anchors hanging over the side sides of fishing boats running to their next crappie spot. I suspect that was probably the case here. It never entered my mind how dangerous that might be.

RIP. Lines, fenders, all of that stuff has to be secure while underway. I keep seeing people with fenders over the side while underway and I shake my head.

Drove me crazy seeing the fenders out underway. It was not formally considered an indicator of potential BUI, but was usually present in BUI cases…

At least 50% of the boats around sofl have their fenders out underway. The worst part is that many of them are charters operated by USCG licensed captains.
