I may go down, but no firm plans. Anybody go yet? Anything "must see" or do?

Yeah, me. I will be in the Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron booth 2PM to 4PM on Sunday. Say hello! <gg>

We're going to try to go either Sat or Sun. Can't go Friday, so will have to go on one of the more crowded days. Just tire kicking. ... Not really shopping. We're upfront with the sales people, so we won't end up wasting their time.

Hope to get down sun am, but by the tides I have here at home ( Thomas Pt ) better wear your boots. I would imagine half of those tents on the east side of ego alley are flooded at high tide.

We'll be down with friends Saturday afternoon, checking into Doubletree and staying thru Sun for the show.

Only way to have fun around town and at the show is using their free shuttle bus back and forth. :-)

Ther is a home Navy game on Sat. so the stadium parking is moved to other areas. Still bus shuttle, but not from stadium.

Boat show is over, I went on Monday it was the last day

Oops... Was talking about real boats :)

A friend of Naomi has a booth at the show, she has a company called Not for Navigation making some very nice canvas bags with NOAA charts printed on. All made in the US and very nice quality. Not sure if the layout is the same as the sail show but she was next to the yacht basin

It was great to meet Sortie and his family today at our USPS booth. Very nice fellow and family.

Had a great time at the show, had some famous Pussers 'Painkillers' and talked with Hyperfishing (Chris), nice to be able to put faces to names.
I have a few observations from the show:
First, I didn't see any SOLD signs on any of the boats we saw and I didn't hear any cannon fire denoting a sale.
I attribute this to several factors, a down economy, high fuel prices and VERY high prices on mid level boats. Taken together with the economy and fuel issues, this will prevent many middle class boat buyers from taking the plunge.

Second, there didn't seem to be as many apparel vendors actually doing custom embroidery on site as other years.

Third, there seemed to be a big focus again this year on bedding upgrades, toilet upgrades and replacement engines. I managed to get a few good ideas for upgrading my boat like electronic AC controls and a very interesting engine flush/winterizing system.

All in all, a beautiful day, great food, great people and too many boats to comprehend.

Unlike the sailboat show, I did not hear ANY cannon booms to signal a boat sale. I recall about six within 4 hours at the sailboat show. Still not great, but better than none for powerboats, particularly on the last day!
