Quick description of my boat. Four winns 348 2003. 1 month old for me. Bought it from a dealership and was a trade in. The dealership (Heres a plug for them) Irwin Marine was totally professional and a pleasure to deal with I would highly recommend them to anyone looking.

Heres what happened: Away or the weekend on the boat. Sitting on a friends boat next mine and hear my bilge pumps go on. I jump up to look and both bilges are on (forward and rear).

I look forward first. Find that its loaded with fairly dirty water and the multifuncton shower pump was filthy. and non functional. Theres no switch on the panel. Turns out to the float switch wire has broken off from its butt plug. That gets fixed and the shower box gets cleaned (YUK!!!) it now works fine. I assume that this was the case for a long time and this rotten water has been sitting there for a while. I drain it all out on the trip home. Now remains this musty smell and a stained lower area. This area isn't very accessable and needs to be cleaned and disinfected.
I have 2 possible solutions but want to see what some of you think. I was thinking of adding 10-20 gallons of water to the forward bilge with a cup or two of bleach added and runnng around making alot of sharp turns and washing it that way or do the same thing with lysol or a bilge cleaner.

I prefer bleach but am afraid of it.

Any thoughts or other ideas.

Thanks,

Pete

One more thing. It surprised me that the kitchen sink emptied into the shower box. Is that common?
