Might have been asked before... I want to parallel 2x8d 250ah battery for a 500ah house bank. What size cable for the jumper?? No heavy load just fridge, lights, stereo, no inverter...I was going to use 2awg marine grade since I have them already. What do you guys think?

Thanks.

If it's a house bank only that should be OK. If it is for start as well I'd go 3/0 or 4/0. JMHO.

I guess I should not cheap out and get 3/0. That way its done right..

Thanks

Use whatever gauge is currently feeding the single battery. I did this last year my house is also a starting battery I doubled up on my port bank I now have three 8Ds two are in parallel and I use as the house bank and a single on the Starboard side, I have not run low since.

Yes use same gauge as main cables because if one battery were to fail the other will dump charge into it and you don't want a fire.

Unless you put a fuse in it use same gauge as main cables because if one battery were to fail the other will dump charge into it and you don't want a fire.
