On our current 4 year old boat, I am now replacing the starboard tab actuator 2 times in 4 years. Is it because they are electric and partially submerged ? Our previous boat had Bennet hydraulic tabs, had it 16 years and never a problem.

I have them on a 16 year old boat, fresh water, short season. They are approching end of life though
Good luck

I liked the Bennet hydraulic trim tabs but I think many did not like the delay. Lenco are simpler with no hydraulic pump. My new to me boat has Lenco trim tabs and I will hopefully get to try them in a few weeks.

Did you take apart the Lenco trim tab that failed to see what the cause was?
