AYC Meeting

Last weekend they had new pumps installed.
Not sure what they did or are doing with tanks.
I assume that were full of water!
I guess getting clean fuel may be a issue for a bit.
Unless the stations are dumping their tanks.

Tanks are supposed to be waterproof. ( at the fill and at inspection plate )

Water could have backed in once the pumps were lost. I would hope they mandate check valves at the tanks but who knows. So the fuel should be safe.

Well pumps were blown off their stanchions, so that could of left open pipe to tanks.
Vent pipes I think were high enough.

My good news is I won't be using my boat when it goes in since I have a 17 day business trip, so by the time I get back hopefully all the bad gas and debris was discovered and I could be like Forest Gump and the last surviving shrimp boat! LOL!

Thanks John, I sent you a message.

As for the gas pumps...after Irene I was speaking to one of the guys down at the Bergen Point gas docks and he told me that they had to empty their tanks twice to get rid of the contamination. Hopefully whoever is in charge of the AYC gas docks will make sure they check and if necessary do what Bergen had done.

D Dock was totally dredged as of last Saturday (13 April) I couldn't believe all the junk they took out! I was also told allot of the muck also came up making the slips a bit deeper- Full power should be back on D dock by the end of the month!
