There was a plan introduced in Baltimore to have the inner harbor ready for swimming and fishing in the next 8yrs. Someone sold someone a bill of chit there.

Swimming & fishing...with all the boat traffic ?
To say nothing of all the debris in the water. Can't see it happening unless some major restrictions are put in place !!

While at TrawlerFest in the Inner Harbor in October I noticed that the water was so clear I could see my prop unlike in other parts of the Bay.
First thought, it's due to toxins in Baltimore Harbor killing all manner of life in the water.
Are there fish and crabs there now?

Not just interesting but stunning the amount
of sewage leaking into Baltimore Harbor from
a crumbling infrastructure of underground piping.
Sadly, it appears beyond repair.

Politicos are advised to read the above article
before going after boaters.

Well, the Hudson River near NYC is now open for swimming above the GW bridge! We noticed a BIG improvement in just ten years.

Baltimore Harbor is full of crabs, and when water clears up between rainstorms, we have seen big fish swimming around, likely carp. Plus, there are MASSIVE feeding frenzies of fish on bait pods at certain times of the year. Very nice to see, so Baltimore Harbor is obviously improving. WTG!

Baltimore Harbor is a sewage pit and a floating trash heap. Carp are garbage eaters as are crabs. The fact that they exist in Baltimore harbor doesn't mean they aren't toxic. You wouldn't find me eating anything I knew came from that body of water. Try asking the wife of the previous owned of Martin's Yacht Sales who cut her foot open on the prop of their SeaRay while docking in Baltimore Harbor if she feels the water quality is improving. She was hospitalized for weeks and almost lost her life due to the infection that she picked up.

I agree! There was a guy picking up crabs to eat, yuck. But, the fact is there are huge feeding frenzies of bait and striped bass/bluefish in the Harbor now, and I have not seen that before. That is certainly an improvement.
