battery advice???

I'm looking for advice on battery placement. Just bought a new 24v trolling motor front mounted for my pontoon and the batteries barely fit under the front seat. I have everything hooked up and working but I'm worried about heat or other problems due to the batteries being jammed in there and possibly bearing some weight on the terminal posts. I was able to get covers over the batteries and close the seat so the terminals aren't exposed to element or the seat itself but they are touching the covers
