Battery charger issue?

Bob- A little baking soda and water, then a little alum and water, then a little charging and !Poof!, revived battery!! :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Supe1a3LW2U Good luck ! And heck what do you have to lose if the battery seems kaput now? (No, I haven't tried this .)

It is a good idea to disconnect batteries if you are using an automotive charger because some of them have internal design that can cause stray current corrosion in your boat's bonding system. That question goes away when the battery is electrically isolated.

Thanks Guys.
Batteries are disconnected. Started charging the second battery last night, charging at <7amps so it'll take a while but so far seems to be taking the charge with a surface voltage of 13.0v, I'll check again in 2 or 3 hours and hopefully will be in maintenance mode by then.

Do you have any updates, Bob? I've got my own "boat gremlin" to figure out battery-wise this coming weekend.

Wound up getting 3 new group 24 deep cycle house batteries at autozone for a little over $200 after coupons.
Returned 2 of the shorted out interstates and kept the good one to be used somewhere(??).
Will be keeping an eye on the charger and the batteries for the next few weeks.

My issue turned out to be a bad crimp, so that's solved. Now I just have to figure out why my refrigerator crapped out. It is always something!

Are you going to upgrade your charger?
