Hi all,
I need your help in figuring out what the problem is. Just bought a brand new battery to install in my 2001 Fourwinns. Followed the owner's manual instruction and disconnected the black wires first then the red. However, when replacing with the new battery, after installing the red wires and then the black wires, the black wires sparked and then went very hot. To the point that it almost melted the rubber housing on the wire.
The black wire has three altogether. I believe one is for the bilge pump, one is for the cd player and the last one is for the main starter. The red wires has two connections, one red wire and one black.
I must be doing something wrong here in terms of installing the sequence of wires. Otherwise, why would there be sparks and the wires get hot. Please help.....
