I bought a 99 FW Vista 258 from a marina in Bay City, Michigan in January. After my survey which turned out good, I financed the boat through the marina and at that time the marina ordered a custom built trailer for me. That was back in beginning of March. The trailer was supposed to be delivered to the marina 4-10-06. Its 2 weeks late now and the marina is being NO help. I've talked to the general manager of the marina and he basically told me to "relax". By the way, i have been nothing but patient and attentive to them.
Ive called the trailer builder and they told me they couldnt talk to me, they can only talk to the dealer who ordered the trailer. I asked the marina to give me my $$ so I can buy a trailer on my own and they said they already paid for the trailer in full! So what if the company never produces a trailer? Am I out the $5K? Up to this point I havent really been the "typical customer". Ive been calm and asked nicely. But it seems to be getting me nowhere.
Ive called my lawyer... he is going to call up there and see if he cant get it straightened out. Does this sound like the proper approach?? Should I be more firm with them? This isnt the norm, correct me if Im wrong. If a company promises a product to you on xx date, and its 2 weeks late, I do have a right to question it, do I not?
