Here's the scenario. A few houses down on our canal is a boat that very often has some sort of beeping alarm that goes off (kinda like 2 beeps, pause and then 1 beep& keeps repeating that pattern). Apparently we hear it more than they do because there are times it goes on for hours and no one does anything to turn it off, yet people are home in the house. This morning it happened again at 5:30 and woke us up. It is still beeping now for over 2 hours. The only number we have for the house is a business number that answers with a machine (we don't really know these people). We have called this number in the past and sometimes someone will go out and turn off whatever is beeping. Some say it's time to call the local precinct and just report the alarm and let them go to investigate and hopefully inform the owner so the rest of the neighborhood isn't disturbed. Others say ignore it, which truthfully is sometimes hard to do since it's kinda like a Chinese torture (according to company I had here one day who said they'd never put up with it!). What would you do???
