Agreed, I am not a fan of filters for that reasonA filter restricts air and makes things worse. Get rid of the filter, let the air into the tank and use Odorlos.

I bought that book years ago and it really does explain everything about a boat's sanitation system. Every boater should have this book.+1 for Odorlos, more is not better. Do some reading on how a holding tanks works as well. You actually want poo in there to do it's job

This is what I have been using for many years. It works.Flush your tank several times and then use Odorlos. It's the best stuff on the market!
Get rid of that filter (bypass it) and your odor problems will go away. The filter actually restricts air flow and keeps the sewage smelly.I've got a carbon filter on my vent line - expensive to replace, but lasts years.
