I just read that a judge issued a stay, temporarily preventing the expansion at Champlin's Marina. I must have missed it but, when was this expansion approved. Does anyone know the details of this expansion? At one time, the proposal had the expansion into the town mooring field which would have resulted in a loss of numerous public moorings.

There was an article in the Providence Business News this week. Sounds like originaly, the CRMC was split 5-5 on the original proposal so it was effectively blocked. Champlains appealed to the RI superior court which overturned the CRMC decision and allowed the expansion to proceed. CRMC and several other state agencies appealed to the RI supreme court which overturned the lower court. They ruled that the proper course of action was to refer the matter back to the CRMC for review. Not sure where that leaves it now.
