Anyone know of places to take the boat on the bay for a nice kid-friendly dinner? Maybe Strathmore? Margate? Somers Point?

The Deauville Inn in Strathmere is perfect right on the water with docking. Call ahead they get really busy. It's just after the 69th Street bridge near (the Point) Corsons Inlet. I wouldn't advise coming in through Corsons it's a nasty inlet.

Is that it? Man that area has to get on the ball. After being in OC, MD for the last two years, I guess I'm spoiled. There are tons of restaurants on the water there, but I am having a difficult time finding any on the water in OC, NJ.

We do quality over quantity in NJ!

(Sounds good anyway)

Sounds perfect. He can practice going to Block Island

Gee, that's really funny, where do you get your material???

Try the Clam Bar at Smith's marina in Somers Point. You can tie up on the end of their dock. The Crab Trap is also good but double the price. They have their own dock .

There is a nice lunch place just south of the 9th street bridge,I thinkit's called Dick's Dock, last year they were also running a pirate cruise out of the location. On the summers point side there is the old waterfront just north of the OC causeway by the summerspoint circle. Further down towards tuckahoe is my personal favorite the Tuckahoe Inn. All have docks. I'll be down OCNJ the last week in June and will hit most of the above.

There was a restaurant at Seaview Harbor Marina in Longport just in to the right coming in Great Egg Inlet.

Bob,

You're right there aren't many places in OCNJ on the water but there's a few. One you may want to try is called the "Inlet". It's located on the Somer's Point side of the bay just north of the 9th street bridge..easy docking.

I will also second the DeVaulle Inn in Strathmere. It's a little tricky getting there but you can usually follow someone in.

I would also recommend taking a ride down the ICW to Wildwood. There's plenty of places along the water to grab a bite to eat.

OC doesn't have much, downside of being a dry town. Go acorss the bay to Somers point, or south to Strathmere. You've got the Deauville, but IMO Twisties is much better, albeit the deck is pretty small. Keep going south to Sea Isle City, and you've got Carmen's, and two or three others I can't remember the names of. Further south, the Anchorage in Avalon is a good breakfast spot. After that, not much going south until you hit North Wildwood.
