New to boating this year. My boat is currently in a boatel and I was wondering if it is customary to tip the boatel manager/helpers at the end of the season (or before the helpers return to college in late August)? I've asked other boat owners around the marina, but cannot get a definitive answer. If this is customary, what is the tip amount based on, percentage of annual fee, per use, or ??? My thought is to hand the boatel manager a tip equal to 10% of my annual fee in late August and let him divide it up. I appreciate any info or thoughts on this matter. The boatel staff has done a great job for me this year, and helped me over some of those new boater hurdles (like docking).
