Does anyone know of any locations in Fort Lauderdale or Miami where we can dock the boat near a beach within 1 mile walking distance? How far is the Miami Marina from the beach?

Thanks

Hillsboro Inlet, beach the boat inside the inlet and walk out to the beach.

You can also tie up to docks on the backside of Dania Beach.

The city of Dania Beach bought the old seafair marina which is about 100 yards from the beach, right across from the pier. The city of Hollywood marina is just a walk over the IWW bridge about a quater mile form the beach. John U Lloyd State park just south of the port you can beach your boat in wiskey creek and your almost on the beach.http://www.dep.state.fl.us/parks/OPG/lloydbeach/photos/JULBSP-boating-park.jpg

Miami beach marina is within walking distance of the beach. a little further south on key biscayne you can tie up at no name harbor, on the south side, and walk to Crandon Beach, maybe 1/2 mile. there are many trails, bike paths, etc... great week end location.

crandon beach is really nice, has often made the best 10 beaches list... MUCH nicer and more "tropical" than miami beach, FTL, etc...

John Loyd Park is the best I know in the Broward area.
It's across from the port of Port Everglades where the cruise ships docks, only minutes from the inlet.
You have to beach the boat there and at low tide, it can go around 3 feet. There is also a fixed bridge to clear but it is high enough for all kinds of radar arch. I have seen flybridge boats there and even boats over 30 feet long.
It's a State park on the beach. There's a little restaurant right there.
I go there almost every weekend.

No Name Harbour is also at walking distance from the beach if you want to go to the Miami area.
