boating education requirements in NJ?

Rommer - I believe you are wrong. While it is 100% true that on-line courses will not satisfy the requirements of obtaining a NEW JERSEY certificate - as you must sit in a class and take the test in person - as a visitor from another state, if you are over 16, and have an official certficate from your home state, you are allowed to boat in Jeresy for 90 days with that certificate.
 
Not going to spend time on vacation looking for the references and if it's been changed then I stand corrected.

Personally I feel that taking the time and effort to take the class in person is a much better learning experience and makes for safer boaters. (I take it every few years just to break up the winter.)

One thing I agree with is that NJ's rules are screwed up and over the top.
