Can I navigate the ICW from the bay in Ocean City, NJ all the way to Atlantic City? Is it on the inside all the way? How long would a trip like this take?

The ICW, south of AC is very shallow with significant shoaling at times. Many low bridges, no wake zones, lots of green heads and mosquitoes. IIRC at least one of the bridges needs to be opened even for smaller boats. (Been a few years so I might be wrong on that)

That said, sure it can be done inside but you really need charts, stay close to the markers and watch the depth finder.

The back bay area behind Ocean City and Strathmere are ok it's getting there from points north. This probably won't be a problem for Bob because he can trailer his boat.

Just run it outside. You're only talking about a few miles inlet to inlet.

The answer is yes. I have done it a few times. It will take at least an hour maybe a little more. This is due to the considerable no-wake zones along the way. It you have the time it's a nice trip.

There is one train bridge that you may need to have opened if it's not low tide. This bridge is closer to AC.

Let me know if you need any additional info.
