Boating with young kids?
As many of you know, my wife and I are looking to get back into boating with our now 17 month old daughter. As we look at boats, and try to make a decision, we are beginning to wonder if we are jumping the gun. We want back out on the water ASAP, but are wondering if we will be able to spend any quality time with our daughter on the boat, given her young age, and her tendency to not want to sit still for long.
What age did everyone start boating with their children? How did they do, and what did you do to make the time more enjoyable? We are looking at a 28 footish express cruiser, knowing that a decent size cabin and A/C are going to be a must. We have dreams of overnighting, but will these dreams live out, or will we just be miserable trying to spent a lot of time aboard with our 17 month old daughter? Should we wait another year or two?
Any tips, advice, stories (good & bad) would be much appreciated as we consider whether this is the right time or not to get back out there. Thanks in advance..
