Greetings! Used West Marine Bottom Shield hard black for many years (18). Easy to use. Boat was slipped in fresh/brackish with many trips to ocean (1 week at a time). Got away with painting entire bottom once every 4 or 5 years - with touch up in between. Not lots of paint build up, and no slime/barnacles. The new owners slipping in salt - Long Island Sound. Q - Anyone with experience with this paint in salt? Thanks in advance!

I am also in brackish water. Even though brackish, I have to have the hull power washed in the fall and some paint comes off. I don't know how you get away with every 4 years.

It gets power washed in the fall, paint in Spring. What bottom paint are you using?

I happen to use Pettit SSA blue each year. It keeps the hull fairly clean in a brackish river in NJ. Still, I can tell when there is some growth on the hull as performance deteriorates slightly by fall.
