I am a bit confused by the proper anode type. I am trying to prepare early this year and I have was wondering if I should purchase aluminum or a Magnesium Anode Kit?

I have a Bravo III Drive and boat in Fresh Water Only. I want to have the best protection to try and eliminate the corrosion on my bravo III drive.

Thanks in advance.

Ok You do not see me here cause I have a high fever and am supposed to be laying down, but I spent 5 hours on this today since I could not figure where Toofast was getting the $60.00 number from so here it is. Most of Mercruiser knows nothing about this yet, including their customer service department. Its only the engineering dept and a few people in distribution that have put this together. The part toofast is talking about is a Merc 809666A02 we sell it for $91.13 Just list it as a Prop Anode Kit You can order it here:

http://www.boatfix.com/orderblank.asp

Mercruiser list price is $159.85 Those Dealers that are aware of it are selling it for $130.31

Now what Toofast is referring to is the aftermarket version of the same thing. Now I have not seen the aftermarket version, so I cannot comment on the differences, but as he says it is much cheaper. I can break our own rule and post the link to it, but I have to say I have no knowledge of this units performance or specifications nor can we say if its the same as the Merc. All we can say is these people seem to be saying its the same.
