We just had our rendezvous at the BYC.
Agree with all that has been said here plus the following:
We had 9 boats from 28 to 55 ft.
They do not have sufficent dock help. Pretty much everyone was left to tie up their own boats.
Several boats had power issues at their slips. Either not enough power or none at the power pole. One boat was moved 3 times and another twice.
At the low, one of the big boats touched bottom on the way in.
The dock fingers are fixed and about a foot lower than the main dock. High tide was over the finger by about 5 inches so we had to wade across it to get on and off our boat. Luckily this did not occur in the dark.
The current runs very fast in the river and boats completely ignore the 5mph zone so you are rocking often.
The Manasquan inlet is narrow and there were rough conditions there on Friday and a significant chop on Sunday. The boat traffic was crazy on Sunday and in the middle of this maelstrom, a scuba diver with a death wish pops up right in the inlet.
We had a great time despite the challenges but I don't know if we would go back. To the marina's credit, they gave us an unsolicited discount for our trouble.
