Bristol non skid additive?????

We are finishing the teak steps on our bridge ladder with Bristol finish. It looks great but I am afraid it is going to be VERY slippery. Any tips on an anti skid additive I could mix in with the Britol to help give soem grip to the step?

One thing we do with our industrial epoxy floor coatings is broadcast aluminum oxide for non-skid. The color is a dark brown / black and can be purchased at any large hardware store or sand blasting supply house. It should stick to the wet Bristol Finish. You could stop there and leave an exposed rough (sandpaper) like surface or re-coat and encapsulate the alum oxide and you would have a smooth, but textured surface.

Another alternative would be to apply non-skid step pads. They have a self adhesive backing and come in different colors.

The stips even come in clear. But for the outside I'd add "sand" additive made for nonskid applications. Different marine paint companies sell them in different textures.
