BRITTLE STIFF VINYL! IS THERE A SOLUTION???

Looking at purchasing a nice Caravelle but the interior is very brittle and stiff. It is in nice shape otherwise but if you push on it just right it will crack. Is there a product out there that will "restore" it or soften it up so that it is usable?
 
The vinyl has lost some of the plasticizer contained within it and has oxidized--as said above it must be replaced
 
That's what I was afraid of! Thanks for the replies though. I appreciate it. I was just hoping that there was some magic "Snake Oil" that would work to soften it up.
 
Make sure that whatever vinyl you use is marine grade.......Has fungicide in it to discourage pink staining of the vinyl. A marine grade should also have UV inhibitors as well. There is no way to tell other than to rely on distributor or manufacturer claims.
 
When you replace vinyl you may want to consider regular use of 303 Protectant to keep it from becoming stiff, yet again.

One can use 303 on vinyl? I did not know that.
 
its not the same 303 that you use on canvas one is called fabric gaurd (this water proofs canvas) the other is protectant and conditioner for vinyl. same company different products
