Chris Craft sea strainers

Groco made sea strainers for Chris Craft boats that are unlike anything I have seen. After taking off the strainers the sea cocks looks like these. The strainer model numbers are svs1000 and svs1250.

I want to seal them so the rubber plug does not dry out. Does anyone know what the cover would be called and where to get it or should I just make them myself.

Billy - If you are looking for a Groco cover to take the place of the sea strainer assembly , it doesn't look like Groco lists one but you could always try giving them a call to check.

Can you just put sheet rubber gasket between the sea cock and remount the strainer? Or perhaps just apply silicone grease to the rubber plug? Are you only doing this with the boat on the hard?

I did check with groco. They were not much help. I think I will have to make my own. No big deal, I just would have rather screwed down brass on brass. I'll make one out of stainless and use a rubber gasket in between. I am capping them off and using two other seacocks that are in better locations.

I think they are bronze. But I was think the same thing re stainless with gasket between . Maybe bronze machine screws and perhaps a little Tef-gel where they contact the stainless.
