Well, don't have a Carver just a Wellcraft (1993), but.........
We decided to wash the cushion covers last year. Our suggestion would be to wash in cold water and to tumble dry (air) or hang to dry. We did have a little shrinkage, but not bad. Sure freshened them up!!
We have an old Hoover wet/steamer carpet/ upholstery cleaner. I've used it twice on my Santego cushions and it did a nice job. Do it when the temp is warm and air dry so they dry out quickly. We also cranked the AC and ran a couple of fans . . .
I rented a steam cleaner with upolstery tool from Walmart and did all my cushions and carpets in about 2 hours. Came out great! I was afraid to wash mine in a washer. I did it once with a porch chair cushion and it was never the same. Jim
