Condition and Value survey cost?

I sent an email to two of the closest surveyor in my area since it is time to splash the boat. I want an agreed value insurance policy, and need a surveyor. No response from either yet

I own the boat outright, it was a project boat, but it is now almost better than new.

It's a 3697 Carver mariner, 1987. 36 feet, but really more like 40 feet depending how you measure.

What does this service cost?
 
Just an insurance survey, $13-17 per foot I'm guessing. A full pre-purchase survey, maybe an extra $5-7 per foot.
 
Jeez, I rcvd one quote for $750! It only cost 350 to appraise the house.

And I rcvd an insurance quote for what I think the boat will survey out at, and it's only $530 with agreed value, 1mm insurance, 2500pp, 2% deductible.

Does 750 seem right? I gotta ask around.
 
I just made an appointment today I guess I should have asked how much :)
