Ok well.. First thing was to get the trailer made. Since I was buying this boat from a guy who kept it on a rack, I had to get a trailer. No biggy, I called my buddies at Extreme Marine make a tri axle for me. They made a dual axle for me for my last boat and I was pleased with the price, etc. So I went back.
In an effort to help offset the costs of getting to Maryland, I found a guy on uship.com that needed a monster of a boat trailered to Virginia Beach from Cocoa Beach Florida.

I picked it up about 10am in Cocoa Beach and drove straight to Virginia Beach. Took it off the trailer about 2am, then drove another 2 hrs to about 100 miles out of Maryland. Why would I do this to myself? Well work kept me from leaving earlier, and I had tickets for my Wife to fly from Florida to Baltimore and had to pick her up at 10am! So I drove and drove and drove.
The only snag was in Cocoa I looked at the trailer to see how it was, and noticed I had a screw in one of the tires. I was smart enough to get a spare for this trailer, not for the dual axle so of course I got a flat on the dual and spent 4 hours in Daytona Beach coming back from Virginia with my other boat to get a replacement. I found a shop not 4 miles a way which patched up my now spare and off I went. The rest of the trip was broken up over 3 days. Made it about 1hr out of Baltimore and stopped in Southern Virginia. From there the next day we made it to Savannah Georgia. 3rd day got us home about 4pm.
All and all I like getting my boats from up north. They have low hours, have not seen florida sun and usually have never seen salt water. Also this boat was with a FWC motor which was what I really wanted. I don't know why anyone wouldn't get a FWC motor, it makes replacing the parts that die from Salt easy to replace (Exhaust Manifolds, Risers and Heat Exchanger) I've done engine swaps, they are simple enough, but require fork lifts and big bank accounts to do!
