My wife and I are heading up to the san juans for the fourth. I'm trying to decide if we should head around the east side of whidbey and go through deception pass or head up the east west side and bypass that.
We will be going through the locks and then heading north. I'd like to go through the pass as I think it would be really pretty to see, but I'm a little concerned about the tide / current through the pass. Is there a site where I can find the slack tide for the area? Or can I just call a marina over there and find out the best time to head through?
Anyone have any experience with the best way to go up there? Which way do you guys like to go?
