Deflated Inflatable

Have a Mercury AirFloor 270 that is about 12 years old. Doesn't owe us anything. Put a new 9.9 Merc on the back, and ran it a few times. The Ding is rated for 10 HP, but because it being older, it couldn't take the pressure, and leaks on the seam. Is there a service that repairs something like this? Maybe time for a new one...?

There is a shop here that repairs them and does a good job. There must be one in your area. Try searching for inflatable repair, several showed up in CT.

Inflatable repairs tend to be expensive to have done. You might be able to do it yourself. For one or two seams, get the right type of glue for the boat material and have a go at it, assuming you have the time and inclination. I've also seen a product you can put in the tubes and it will coat the inside to stop leaks. I've heard it works well.

Of course, if it's that old and there are multiple seams opening you might just be chasing your tail trying to fix it.

Thanks Hogan for looking it up! Guess I didn't realize there were so many places to fix. That means it's probably lucrative. Of course I need to bring it in for an estimate. A new RIB is about $1300....hmmmm?

Ditto on Sound Inflatables in Saybrook, had a puncture repaired there a few years back and was not too bad...will depend on the fix I guess.

Spike when mine fell apart in the back cove of Essex, I rented a van and went to every marine store within 30 miles. Sound inflatable had the best prices on Achilles, they delivered it to me the next day. They also repair dinks.
