Did you ever personally install an Atlantes Head?

Taking a survey, if anyone here on the board ever personally installed a Raritan Atlantes head on your boat. Reason for asking, is that a template is included with every Atlantes head shipped, showing floor outline and bolt and hose locations, as well as wall outline and hose locations. It is on a "C" sized sheet of paper (17" x 22") which must be folded and stuffed in the literature pack that is included with all new Atlantes heads. The question is, "Did you use it?"

Our impression is that most people slide the actual head in place, then mark the outline and hole locations, then pull it away, make their cutouts, and then put it back - and never use the actual template. Can anyone elaborate?

We (at Raritan) are giving serious thought to discontinuing it, and only sending it out upon request. It isn't the cost of it, per se, but the requirement to fold it, stuff it in with the head, keep track of it in inventory, etc. If we run out, entire shipments are sometimes delayed just because of a piece of literature which may not be actually needed by anybody.

The thinking is to just keep a stack of them in our literature room, and only send them out upon request. Waddaya think?

I installed 2 of them a couple years ago (and an Elegance last year). I tried using the template and I remember it not working for me (I had hoses and wires where the template needed to go and when I cut out the middle/end, it didn't hold the shape well enough).

I would be just as happy with a set of measurements.
On the Elegance, it's pretty easy, but it would have been nice to get the measurement of how far from the wall I needed to mount the bracket.

You know Vic I saw that template along with the other paper work, while sitting on, and checking out the new Atlantes I installed, making sure it worked.....As you know in most applications where I install them...I always cut out the hose and wire openings larger anyway..

My vote is for Raritan to keep their paper and lower the price
