Ever have one of those saturdays the boats not coming off the dock for some reason,give this a try. Get a couple off your buddies together and have dingy races. We happen to be at a marina on the upper end of a tidal river with minnimal boat traffic and a bridge 1/4 mile down river thats used as the turning point. All the dingy's are within a foot length of each other and hp varies from 4 to 6hp. Races are usually after 5:00 oclock somewhere and the stakes are high. Bragging rights and loser supplies a round of refreshments from his cooler. I have never seen a bunch off grown men (and spectators)laugh so much. It has gotten to the point that were doing peformance upgrades to our little 2strokes. One put on a doel fin, another goes with over inflation of the dingy,I went with removing the air baffel over the carb and the rubber exhaust plug(sounded mean but went slower). Notice the cost expended for the entertainment value. Talk for spring of 06 is porting and polishing ports,reproping. Oh crap there goes the cost factor, see what happens when you get a bunch of guys some gas and a spark plug together. We will be involving the spouses next summer with blindfolded dingy racing around a short coarse and lot's of turns. Wife directing and husband driving blinfolded, here come the divorces. If your going to try dingy races you will want to wear your lifejacket and your tether cord.
