Ill try to explain this.

Tried to bring the boat around to my mechanic the other day. I needed to dock on the North Side of dock. Wind (20knots or so) and the current comming from the south. The Dock Runs East to West with the open end on the West. Down a small fairway to get here. A boat was tied up on the south side already and just west of this spot are slips with boats in poles facing North.

I tried approching from both directions. I tried bow in and stern in. I figured the best way would be to head bow into the wind from the North into the slip. Turn broadside and attemp
to get a spring line on. How can I get a spring line on single handed? I can't leave the boat? I could not get close enough and hold it there to get a line on a pole from the boat. I tried backing it down but my bow would be pushed so far north I was 90 degrees with the dock before I got in.

Is there a way to leverage the spring line in this situation or does it requires a deck hand. Of course no one was around to lend a hand.

I attempted probably 10-15 times, each time getting out of the fairway without getting into any trouble (my #1 priority) but I could not get it in tied up.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
