drainage at the swim ladder

Has anyone solved the problem of water lying in the recessed well for the swim ladder. This is on my 350 Carver.

I drilled a drain hole into it.

We had that problem on our old 350 as the boat does sit slightly bow heavy which doesn't allow it to drain out the back. I just made sure that the guy that takes care of our boat cleaned it at least once a week so we didn't get the unsightly scum build up. I'm not sure that I'd want to drill a drainage hole you could possibly be opening yourself up to water getting into the wood etc in the platform.

I agree drilling a drain hole could cause more problems as the platform is hollow in the center and could lead to water penetration. I guess I will just keep cleaning it out because it does get scummy.
