The first one isn't a Lectra/San at all - it's a Purasan, and it's missing the halogen cartridge. The second one is a Lectra/San but it's at least 20 years old, and you can't get many of the parts for it any longer.

I've bought both of the above items. I've removed my Electro Scan (you just graciously replaced under warranty) and now have a moonshine still. Thank you for the post!

The only problem is the moonshine rather tastes like poop....

Kurt, there's just no accounting for taste. At times in the past, I've drank rotgut that probably didn't taste as good as poop would!

There's another one to steer clear of, unless you're looking for parts, currently on eBay - a 1985-vintage Standard Crown Head, that runs when you connect a 12 volt battery to it. The fact that it runs doesn't necessarily mean that it works!

If you have an older houseboat (they were used almost exclusively on houseboats in the '60's - '80's), and you need parts that are no longer available from Raritan, then it might be worthwhile. But don't buy it, expecting to use it as-is...
