I don't know if this has been discussed before but I just read some disturbing news regarding the new law requiring 10% Ethanol in all gasoline grades. One issue is that Ethanol contains alcahol which is an absorbent. If you have a used boat chances are there is some water at the bottom of your tank. Presently gasoline sits on top of the water and you're OK. However once you add gas with ethanol it will absorb the water and ruin the complete supply of fuel.
There are other issues like it's also a solvent, a problem for plastic tanks, and last but not least is they expect a shortage of product.
The law is in effect now for land based gas stations, marinas have until June.
Sounds like you better start the season with a clean empty, metal tank before filling with the new stuff.
