Something to share : I have a 2002 Carver with the original canvas, unfortunately the seagulls used it as a dinning table with major staining . It is Sunbrella and the material and stiching was still great but it looked real bad , New canvas was of course considered but I thought that first I would try to dye the fabric.
I am pleased to report that I tried an outdoor fabric paint and it performed much better than I expected. It is a spray so all i did was power wash the top ,hung it on a line and sprayed it . Coverage was very good. one coat. This was 3 seasons ago and hard to believe but the black top still looks good.
There was some bleed thru so the underside has some shading in spots.
Adhesion has been the big surprise, it did not peel!
I purchased this from SimplySpray.com
PS I stopped the seagull issue by using a spider style 8 foot diameter device
Also want to mention that I am not connected in any way to SimplySpray, just want to share a positive story
