Fair weather boaters

I wish my season was just beginning! I just finished winterizing yesterday I have a few more things to bring home today and then they can wrap it for the season. So sad:(

Another windy day! It's nice and warm in the cockpit with the canvas up.

I think this is one of the best times of the year for boating.
I have every creature comfort on the boat that I have at home.
I'd rather spend my time on the water than stuck at home.

Finished winterizing yesterday (thanks Dave) vacuumed the boat and cleaned all over. It is a nice day today, it's time to start cleaning the yard from all the leaves :-(

Allen after talking to you and Mike yesterday I had to go back and check my notes I'm going to go go run more antifreeze through the motors I'm not sure where I came up with three per other then that is what I had used for the generator. I'm heading up there now to redo it just to be safe. It will be my second trip of the day.

I was good for five because of all the water in the mufflers.

All done for the second time! Now I'm confident everything is finished just waiting for shrink wrap.

I was on the boat most of the weekend. Nice under the canvas. I finally finished my anchor locker and windlass rebuild. Only took me 6 months. Short haul scheduled for the 11th. Won't be winterizing until the 16th of November.

If you drain the water out of the mufflers, the aftercooler and the heat exchanger, you use less pink.

I run both motors with a fresh water flush (I added the Groucho flush kit to the motors and made my own for the genet) and then 5 gallons of pink in each motor and 3 gallons in the genet. 2 gallons for the AC. How much doe you guys use?

John I used the exact amount for my engines, gen set and Ac might be 3 gallons. Dave took time to how long it took to run the pink in each engine and it was about 50 second for 5 gallons, can't imagine any water will be left behind.

I ran 6 gallons in the motors and 4 in the genny. My ac drains all by itself when I haul but I put a gallon through just to be safe. John is your ac units split units? If so there is very little water in them the hose are very short I get good pink flow at 1/2 a gallon. When the boat is out of the water I pump antifreeze into the output holes I put a bucket under the pickup strainer to catch what comes out then I use this in my bilges.

I font have split units. Two separate self contained units. I don't pull my boat so I can't use that method. I do flush it with fresh water too and then with pink. I do not put any in my bilges. Why do you put in there? Does water still get in with the shrink wrap? I don't put any in my water line. I just blow air through until no more water comes out.

No real reason I have just always done it if a little water does get in there I'd rather it didn't freeze. In the spring I find everything is bone dry even the antifreeze evaporates.
