Finally got out on the water yesterday. Ahhh...There was a small craft advisory until late last night issued so we knew we may not go out through the mouth. Apparently there was a low over Quebec and a high over the Carolinas.
We launched at Cashman Park (very nice, and no issues, although it was dead low tide) in NBPT, and continued to the mouth. Man, at 8am that thing was rocking and rolling! Did anyone go out through there? I would say they were easily 4-6' already, with water crashing over the north jetty.
With that site, we turned around and heading all the way up river to Merrimacport, MA, around can 43, before turning back.
What a nice quiet ride, we had a great time. From there through, we headed back to the mouth and it was even crazier. We couldn't make it out clearly over the VHF, but it sounds like the USCG was issuing repearted securites as boats approached the mouth. They had a RIB just hanging around by the north jetty.
We headed back to the ramp, pulled her out (no issues again) and off we went...
All in all, a great day either way.
