Floating dock, stolen.

If you are nice, you play your cards right and are smart on how you deal, you tend to get better prices on things like this.

Materials are only maybe 200-300. figure an hour to install it. Seems fair to me, so I jumped on it.

lets see how it comes out

When its done, let us know who did it and how it came out. That is a really good price. Are they using the foam floataton?

$650?!? Wow! That's great!

Did the guy guarantee it would float all the time? :D

Matt, we build docks at our boat club. Since this guy is building a bulkhead, I assume he knows his stuff...but...make sure he uses the right hardware. Galvanized steel corners(inside and outside), through bolted. Cross members should also have angle brackets through bolted. Any cleats should be through bolted and backed...we use angle irons here so cleats are on stringer not deck.

you gotta be kidding.

How far could they get with something you would have to tow at slow speed? Is it feasable to take a dingy tour of all areas within an hour and find it?

"pssst.....hey buddy...yeah you....wanna buy a dock?"

I know where Matt's house is and it's not a far distance from the open bay. There are many, many canals they could've gone into....too many to start looking this time of year in my opinion. I've seen people towing docks in that area and never thought twice about it....just figured they bought a used dock from someone. We once had a small floating dock come down our canal in Massapequa all by itself.

Barb.......do you remember..... the time my buddy Tony bought your neighbors plastic dock system......and we towed it from Massapequa to Amityville......I was on the docks with a paddle as a rudder.....and Tony was in his C/C towing........ :)

From the house to the open is a 2 minute ride. Seaford is right there, has to be atleast 100 canals in a 3 mile radius..

I thought about having a buddy go out on his boat and take a peak, but he wouldnt recognize it, and I cant be on a boat right now, so that wouldnt have worked.

the kicker is, its not even that big of a dock

You've got a higher boiling point than me for sure. I'm mad just reading about it. I would be royally pi$$ed. Something (anything) that you spend time and money making or buying is yours, period! Now YOU have to take time out and research a replacement. YOU have to buy the supplies or pay someone else to do so. YOU have to take time a fit it in place and tie it up, etc. Like I said, you have a higher boiling point than me.

LOL Don! I do remember Tony buying the dock but I think I was at work when he towed it. You had to see the size of the dock she had towed in once you took hers.........it was huge! And they towed it from somewhere around Massapequa Cove.

Barb.....thats funny......you missed a good show......some trip back to Amity.

I'll bet! You had to see MJ towing the floating dock we found (and didn't want). She tied it to the pedal boat at night, pedaled down the canal to a house that had been vacant for months and tied it to their bulkhead. All you could see was the light at the end of the cigarette she was smoking....I had pains from laughing so hard!
