Took yesterday (Tues) as a chance to bask in some fabulous boating weather - and throw some lines over the side off of Sandy Hook channel.
Have to say, our 2 hr transit at 6 a.m. from CYC to Sandy Hook was one of the best runs I've ever had to the City - the River and lower harbor were 'bout as flat as ever ('course, the ferrys downtown produced their usually annoying quantity of wake). The SSW wind kicked up about 1 pm., so we headed back with a tailwind in a moderate chop.
Results - 1 20" shark (caught by one very excited 7 year old), 5 keeper fluke (3 shorts), and far too many sea robins.
We got hits pretty much all day - and a good time was had by all.
Anyone else been out?
PS - Alpine is $3.50/gal
