Tons of people have folding GARELICK deck chairs. Some have "single" chair tips and some have "double" chair tips.... the ones where the tips are basically two 1" tips molded together.Replacing these things seems to be a total rip off... they are around $20 to $25 per chair just for the crappy plastic tips. (Around $10-$13 per pack of two) Does anyone know where to get such an item for less? I've scoured the internet and can't find anything less expensive and I have seven of these chairs and nearly all the tips are cracked. Thanks for any suggestions.

For a boat that looks pretty cheap to me.

Why not fab a replacement.

Begin with :

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) Round Rod, Opaque Off-White, Standard Tolerance, ASTM D4976

and trim to fit.

If needed, drill a bolt hole to fasten.

at about $20 for 36 inch rod, you should be able to make several...

( Or just grin and bear it and fork over the $20 per chair )

Would these prices help at all?

Alternately, ...you could slightly distort the tubes where they touch so as to make just enough of a gap to allow use of non-slippery single caps.
Or... perhaps use the insert type caps ("hole plugs"?) if you can find them in non-slip rubber or plastic.
