I don't know how but I have a leak in my fresh water tank. It is clearly before the pump.
I turned pump off and tank emptied.

Tank is buried under salon floor in galley. This will not be a easy fix and I am at a loss where to start.

I can see the side of the tank where the water comes in and it is fine. Water goes in and vent hose is fine.

I guess leak is in tank or the fitting that feeds the pump or the hose that feeds pump. I can't see that part.

Any ideas how to attack?

I have a email into Regal to see about access. I think the front of the tank may be accessable if I remove fridge.

Putting a little food dye in the tank may help in finding the source. Leaks suck. Good luck.

Thanks. Putting dye will just get to to bilge.
I need a way to get eyes on it before doing anything.
I know there is a leak somewhere in tank or line from tank.
If I can get in with camera then dye will help but still need a way to reach it.
I guess there is not magic liquid you can add that plugs leaks?

Would one of those remote inspection cameras help?

There Are now some cams on try end of a chose with leds that plug in in phone. Cheap. That may help.

Assuming it's a poly tank, my guess it's the fitting or the hose. Check the vent as maybe it's restricted and while filling you may have pressurized the tank.

Only solution will be to cut an access panel in the floor to get to it. Not a huge deal in most cases

There IS, but you don't want it in YOUR water tank! Bar's Leaks

If you don't want to dig it out, put a bladder inside of it.

Poly tank
Hoping it's fiitng and way to reach from some place
I got a camera will try too.

Dave,
All fittings for the tank are either on top or on the side.
To gain access to the sending units and pick up tube, you will have to remove the second step going down to the galley. Both are located on top of tank.
I have had my fridge out numerous times and have never noticed access to the water tank. To remove the tank, the floor outside the galley, from forward stateroom to the stairs, will have to be removed. You can confirm this with Regal as well.
Yours is not the first tank that I have heard had that leaked.
Good luck

I thought it would be under that step. I found that in a older post in regal forum.
Do you know how to open that step?
Mine is sealed and don't want to force it.

Thanks!!

Opened the step.
Leak is clearly in tank.
I don't get how the tank can leak.
It is slow.
But after a day there is a little water left in tank so it's not on bottom.
Looks like floor needs to come up.
Its wood planks, so probably remove planks, cut plywood and you got the whole tank in view.
Then repair or replace.
Not a trivial job but not end of world!

My thoughts as discussed.

Like we discussed, I too fill the tank, walk away, then see it overflowing and turn the water off. So, if the flow in the tank is more than the overflow can discharge, yes, that is how you can damage the tank. Once the floor is opened, you can see the fittings. It was noted here you have fittings on the top and the side. I would guess, the fittings on the side are the fittings that feed the water pump. (lowest point) I would also assume the fittings on the top are where the water fills in and the overflow vent.

Best case, you blew a fitting on the side, or a hose that fills the water pump. Worst case, you split the tank.

Bottom line, it is time to get down there and see what is up.

As long as it is exposed, I would replace rather than fix. For the couple of hundred dollars you would spend on a new one, you won't have to worry about doing it again.

I am leaving it till Fall.
I think I may do it myself.
It's a little carpentry work and a little plumbing work.

A decent winter project.
