Looking to install a Garmin 178c on my 05 Regal 3350 and have a few questions.
1. We mainly cruise in the Chesapeake Bay and at a cruise speed of 35-40mph. Is it better to go with a thru-hull or transom mount 50/200 transducer, (including speed and temp). Any specific transducer considerations when cruising at 35-40 and a top speed of 58.
2. Can I hook up the GPS and the unit for a few months prior to the transducer being connected? I am not planning on hauling the boat out of the water for a few months.
3. Any other recommendations for GPS/Sounder combo's, I have considered the Navman to include the fuel side of it but have decided to wait and add that as an option later.
