I purchased the 182C in 2003. Worked fine that year. Summer 2004 When I put the Chartplotter card in it would not work and display "incompatible card format". Sent it to Garmin for repair. They sent it back saying it was fixed. Put it back in boat. Still not working. Sent it back to Garmin again. Spoke to a Garmin tech and was told the first person who fixed it did not fix "the right thing", but this time it was definatly fixed and we would have no further problem. They said a wire came loose and had to be resoldered.
Had linited use of the boat 2005 but it was ok the few times I used it. Last night was the first time I tried to use it this season. Put the card in, "incompatable card format" pops up again, chartplotter does not work!
Do any of you have this model, had this problem? Any advice on course of action would be highly appreciated as well. I paid $800.00 for this unit and do not feel like I should be having this continuing problem.
