Garmin GXM 52 Fried?

I've had a GXM 52 satellite antenna installed for just under a year now. It was working fine as of 2 days ago, but as of yesterday I've got nothing. GPSmap 741XS "sees" it as a device on the NMEA2000 network, but there is no "weather icon/signal strenght" being displayed nor do I have the option in "Media" to select it as a device (my Meteor 300 does show up). Neighbors around my slip say there was a lightning strike last week less than 100 yards away, but I was using the 52 after that. I have no visible damage that I can see. Interestingly enough, my Globalstar external satellite phone antenna is no longer working either, but I've been having some issues with that for quite a while (it's a car-kit antenna so 10 years in the marine environment may have caught up to it). At nearly $600 for the GXM 52 I'm glad I took out that extended warranty!
 
Only 12v power, and the Sat phone is rarely plugged in. Other items on that 12v circuit (like ALL my other electronics) are fine. There's also an interface "box" before the sat phone and antenna that would have taken a 12v hit and it is fine with my spare antenna.
 
I assume you tried disconnecting it from the NMEA20000 buss then reconnecting? I know it`s a dumb question!
 
I was lame and didn't label the connections at the buss, but I was easily able to disconnect at the 52 itself. No luck there. I upgraded firmware on 741XS and the signal icon for weather showed up briefly and then went away. 52 still shows as a connected NMEA2000 device but still no luck actually getting data from it. I'd try swapping NMEA2000 cables but this one is proprietary as it has analog audio out built in. The local Port Supply store manager is checking inventory for me. If they have one I'll swap it out and see if it's the 52 or the cabling.

What else can I break today...
 
Satellite phone external antenna replaced. It appears the elements got to it and it's connectors over the years. The replacement will now "live" under the bimini on this boat to protect it more. Garmin GSM 52 mystery is still ongoing. A neighbor whose house is maybe 100 yards from my slip said he lost all his LED outside lighting, cable TV box and had computers that were off turn themselves on in the strike, so I'm thinking the 52 is cooked and hope swapping it out in a few days fixes the issue.
 
Is that a subscription service thru SiriusXM? If it is, you may have to have them resend the activation signal. I have a GSD30 with the SiriusXM weather and Sat radio. I could get the sat radio but not the weather. The Garmin marine network showed the device but I had no data. I called Sirius and had them refresh the activation signal and it came back up.
BTW if you have to call, be sure to call the aviation and marine number and not the regular Sirius number, the folks in India are about clueless as to how to go about getting the weather units reactivated.
 
Thanks, Chris. I tried refreshing the signal 3 or 4 times without luck. My local West Marine replaced the antenna without question as it was under 1 year old. They said it'll go back to Garmin and they'll get a new one to replace the new one I walked out with. I did try to do a radio "swap" on the SiriusXM website but ended up calling the Aviation/Marine department (in Nova Scotia) as there was a glitch in their system that kept stating that the new GXM-52 wasn't compatible with the other GXM-52 weather subscription. I spent more time on the phone with SiriusXM then I did driving back and forth to West Marine and physically changing out the units.
 
Yes. It showed up immediately on the network and just needed to be activated.
