Been messing around with prop slip calculators and there seems to be some disagreement as to the gear ratio of a 1995 Evinrude 225 - the factory service manual states it as "GEAR RATIO 14:26 (.538)". Called Evinrude tech support and they confirmed the ratio in several year model manuals. For the benefit of the doubt, the manuals could be wrong. The majority of outboards in this HP range are in the 1.85-2.05 range.
Any Evinrude tech out there that can either confirm or deny this ratio?
If you want to mess around with the calculator yourself, here it is. According to the directions 10%-20% is acceptable at high speed.
